Ventures Underground
1980–present
Rosler's ongoing series of subway photographs chronicles forms of architecture and behavior peculiar to underground transit systems throughout the world. The photographs represent the eminently local nature and everydayness of such systems. Ventures Underground, like In the Place of the Public, brings attention to the indeterminate spaces, transient and ephemeral, through which we pass in the course of travel.
