Greenpoint: New Fronts

In Greenpoint: New Fronts, Rosler continues to chronicle change in her Brooklyn neighborhood in real time, a project begun in 1982. In photographs of storefronts she captures small businesses in the throes of gentrification, where longstanding working-class styles of commercial display are replaced or cannibalized for the latest trend. Longtime businesses, local fixtures pictured in the Greenpoint Project, and even some pictured here, have already closed.
